Live location tracking of local trains to be started on Uran line from 7th February, exclusively in central railway's official 'Yatri' app. Live tracking of other lines to be added in coming months.

Paper tickets will be discontinued in Buses for passengers using Chalo Mobile tickets and Passes w.e F 14.02.2022.Bus Conductor validated mobile ticket details will be generated on Mobile app.

The Western Railway has begun the process of pulling down two old platforms at Mahim railway station to make way for the new 5th and 6th lines to segregate national trains. “Two old platforms at Mahim station that were not in use are being pulled down. One was for up fast trains but trains do not halt there at present, and the other is an old harbour line platform, which has been out of use after a new one was constructed a few years ago. The cost of the work is Rs 918.53 crore and is set to be completed by March 2024.
 
Mumbai metro 3 (Aqua line) to be extended from Cuffe Parade to Navy Nagar in southern direction. The move is aimed at providing seamless connectivity to the families of Navy personnel.

Mumbai monorail to be extended for 500 metres from Jacob circle to Mahalaxmi, in order to connect it with Metro 3 (Aqua line) at the mahalaxmi station. The move is aimed at providing seamless interchange between metro and monorail commute for the passengers.
Current frequency of service is 25 min apart, which is planned to be reduced to 10 and 5 mins on arrival of new rakes.

Alstom cancelled the order for 234 coaches for 39 rakes of Mumbai metro 4 (Green line) due to delay in allotment of land for the car shed and lack of storage facility for the coaches.

A day after the decision to increase prices of diesel by Rs 25 per litre was taken for bulk users; the BEST on Monday was scrambling to sort out a schedule for refuelling its diesel buses.

In the next 5 years the entire fleet of BEST buses are scheduled to run on clean energy. They will either run on electric or hydrogen fuel.
