With an eye on the T20 WC in 2016,
Afghanistan have roped in former
Indian all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar as
the bowling coach. Prabhakar, who
made his Test debut in 1984 against
England, was renowned for his
variations and his ability to generate
reverse swing in the sub-continent.
Pakistan's former captain, Inzamam-
ul-Haq, is the head coach of
Afghanistan.
"I am glad I can guide the Afghan
team. They have immense talent and I
am sure, in the years to come, the
Afghanistan side would emerge as a
force to reckon with in all forms of the
game. They have shown a healthy
keenness to learn the finer points of
the game," Prabhakar was quoted as
saying by The Hindu.
Over the years, Prabahakar has also
gained plenty of coaching experience.
He served as the coach of Delhi, but
was sacked for speaking against the
