I don't see yet, what is the latest version of firmware.

I see current version Fire OS 5.2.7.4 (656638420)

Yes...voot app compulsory for live tv option..

Install voot app...automatically you see live tv option....but login require...

Probably going forward other OTT apps will be supported as well and their live channels will also be listed. Sony, Zee, Discovery apps have live tv channels, Star is one major broadcaster which is missing this option.
