My point was why ditch an already established name for something like JioVoot. Not to mention the marketing costs involved to advertise it. Pointless.

Prime Video is also rebranding to Amazon TV.

Poor vision/planning by Jio.

In think Ambani ji has an emotional attachment to Jio brand like a symbol of fortune. Even having Reliance pumps, they started Jio BP, Jio Mart integrated with Retail chain, Viacom 18 Studios - Jio Studios. Adding Jio brand to existing buisness. When it comes to Viacom 18, the partner Paramount/Viacom is again getting sidelined. They aren't getting chances to keep their identity. With Jio's entry it got intensified. Having a dozen of brand names Colors, Voot, Paramount, Viacom etc. an outsider caught the steaming identity.

It makes sense from the branding perspective. The entire nation knows Jio kinda like how Apple or Disney is popular with the Americans.

If Voot + Jio Cinema rebranded to Jio Voot, then 'Voot' name will become more popular & commonly used with the hands of Jio. Generally we say 'Prime' keeping in mind 'Amazon', Chrome for Google Chrome, still we are saying Hotstar.. likewise 'Voot' name become most used by people while 'Jio' stay as silent brand identity which supports to acquire popularity for Voot. Like how google apps gets popularised with 'google' identity.
