We have seen reports of massive drop in viewership numbers of IPL. What do you feel about it?

It's not good this season particularly... Ten teams makes table confusing big teams are not playing well...bad pitches.. It is like simple who won toss won matches.. In most of the matches...
Because of ten teams big players are spilted..
I personally believed that this season will be more interesting because of more teams.. Group A, Group B

But reality is different.. There is no mention of groups after season started..

And finally most people don't care if Gujarat titans, Lucknow gaints as table toppers.. People love old franchises.

I also agree. There are so many matches in such a short span. The enthusiasm and thrill has gone now. Moreover, many people I know are only interested becuase of Fantasy tournaments that are taking place these days.

Ppl who is saying this are only those whose favourite teams ate not performing well in This IPL..that's why fans of so called Top Branded teams are feeling that ipl losing its charm..as Their Teams are at Bottom ..They are finding it boring.. other wise IPL is going great n More interesting den last 10 years Ipl.. Where no Monopoly of CSK MI or KKR.. every team in This season are fighting n playing hard to make the playoffs...so I don't understand How come Ppl find this ipl Boring or unexciting.. just bcz Your Favourite OLD Big Branded Team CSK or MI not performing well doesn't mean IPL has become boring..Or dull. kindly understand IPL is not only abt MI n CSK only.. there are other teams also who are playing to win IPL not just MI n CSK.. Give chance n respect to other teams also ..

Cricket has been a sport that has always brought us together as a nation. The concept is franchise sport is fairly new in India. Most of the people in India develop loyalty towards franchise based on their favorite players unlike foreign football leagues where loyalty is purely towards the franchise irrespective of the players. This year I have noticed that the general sentiment of the people have been limited to checking of scores only, that's why the massive drop in viewership. This maybe because there's too much cricket these days and ICT hardly gets any off days. Too much of anything is always destcructive and I fear this may happen with cricket in general over the years to come.

Now Exams Season yar, So I dont want to watch IPL for my son's exams. I can watch playoffs by May end. League matches are too high in numbers. Group wise matches are better.

Make it like Premier League. A league that happens throughout the year at weekends. People are sick of most bilateral series. Make cricket like football. Bring importance to World competition by hosting it rarely. Than things like Asia Cup, Commonwealth Cup makes sense. They are asking way too much time from us by making us watch daily for 70 days. Sometimes 2 matches on a working day like Saturday is too much.

The drop of TV ratings is bcz Most of ppl now has started to watch live matches On digital platform. .Most of IPL fans prefer to watch IPL via Disney+HotStar instead of Tv channel..

This year IPL Digital Viewership is the Highest since Hotstar got fully paid in 2019.
8.2 M CSK v RCB
7.1 M CSK v LSG
7.6 M CSK v GT
7.3 M RR v KKR ..

Check dis last year IPL online viewership

This year the opening match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) recorded a peak viewership of 6.7 million.

When IPL 14 made a comeback after suspension, the match between MI and CSK in the second half of IPL 14 saw a peak viewership of 5.3 million. Even during the semi-final match between KKR and DC, viewership was in the range of 4.6 million to 5.6 million.
