They say the IPL is growing, but why don't big companies or MNCs sponsor IPL teams these days? Earlier, Adidas, Puma, and Reebok used to sponsor so many teams. And Fly Emirates, Etihad Airways, Samsung, and Pepsi, who sponsor big European clubs, used to sponsor the IPL; why not now? These days, many teams like SRH, PBKs,RR don't even have proper main sponsors. Why is it so? Yes, I know Qatar Airways signed RCB last year and etihad signed csk as its principal sponsor, but why don't other teams get substitute sponsors?

Nowadays companies prefers targetted ads. How many watching IPL viewers would opted for Adidas or Puma over Lux Cozi? India is a middle income country. Smaller brands carries same value as big ones. Earlier smaller brand didn't understand the value of IPL or IPL was too big for their reach. Even back than you had Spice Mobile sponsoring Kings XI Punjab. We should be happy that local brands like Happilo are growing from our own local league.

imo not many companies rn know how big the IPL is otherwise I don't see any reason why any company who has massive cash flow don't invest in IPL. Saudi recently recognised the potential IPL has and they're ready to invest in it.

There is something called RoI ie Return on Investment until you put big money there should be some return which the companies forecasted in return be it intangible or tangible ways . Now the ad price or IPL sponsorship charge huge money which increased many times in IPL for slots which small companies or the matter big companies will invest only if they foresee returns on the same. With India not doing well interest has also declined in subsequent IPL's.

Fair enough got your point but don't think a company like Qatar Airways who have sponsored Barcelona in past and have themselves in PSG's jersey rn would jump into IPL and throw such money if there was no return
