Airtel statement from year 2016
But it was certainly not outdated technology as claimed by airtel tweet.Lot has changed since then with broadband market expanding so immensely and OTT platforms complimenting the same.... Pre 2016 running IPTV services was loss making venture with few takers and as such avenues to explore its advantage were non existent or had minimal presence
It was outdated concept at that point of time reason being that whatever benefits IPTV offered were not only difficult to provide considering limited + old broadband cable network but also as i said IPTV proved to be a costly option vs DTH which proved a much better alternative..... Now situation has changed so linear DTH + Digital IPTV both offer great opportunity to expand and cater to diverse segment of customersBut it was certainly not outdated technology as claimed by airtel tweet.

Jio tv+ is good for native play channels, bad for redirecting to another app's channels as unable to exit, but we can watch many 4k channels in iptv with higher fiber speeds.Even I feel iptv is an outdated technology. If anyone can get all channels in one app like jiotv+ with the internet, Why one need it?
