And to think that Star was paying huge money for rights from 2017-22.....
Only star can say, whether they have made profit and not.

This time also, Viacom/star has won rights in anticipating profit due to NTO 2/ faster digitalisation. Only after completion of cycle, it can be said whether they made right/wrong choices.
 
I would have been happy if vaicom would have won tv and hotstar digital rights. But star would have to shut down their sports channels if this would have been happened.

Now expecting faster availability of broadband in sub-urbans and rural areas after Viacom 18 won digital rights.

Probably Viacom18/Voot will introduce the paid Video On Demand service like Parent Company offers Paramount Plus, Viacom18/Voot will show every live match as PPV.
