I am ok with 5 Retention, every team has 5 quality players they would like to Retain unless you are RCB when they let go K L Rahul and retained Sarfraz, or
Thank God Rcb didn't retained KL Rahul.
As Since he has moved out of Rcb, he has taken his game to another level.
Doing wicket keeping, scoring 500+Runs in 3 consecutive seasons since he has joined kxip since 2018
And now even proving himself as a good leadership role

He is likely to be much better player in the company of Kumble, instead of Kohli/Shastri Duo.....

Mathematically MI still not qualified, but in practical logic, their top 2 finish is almost confirmed.

Because, only 1 team can go above 16 points (unless DC/RCB shares point in their match) and with 16 points, it is very difficult to beat MI's NRR.

3 Retention was available to RCB, they chose Sarfraz over K L Rahul
Along with that retention, there was a very stupid 33cr limit rule as well. This wasn't there in '14. That prevented RCB to retain kl along with Kohli and ab

This is my personal opinion, that 33cr was breached because the captain decided to ask for 17 crores. If someone wants their team to be better, they could have let their team retain him at the max limit of 15 crores. I have never seen Dhoni to demand more than maximum limit even in his prime. That's what made the difference for RCB.

Ps: I'm not saying Kohli isn't entitled to get 17 crores, but if he had put his team first he should have adjusted with 15 crores salary.
