This inning is a tight slap on selectors face by SKY. Don't understand what kind of weed were they smoking before selecting team. Prithvi Shaw , Shubman gill, samson gets selected but not sky that's strange . He could be victim of internal politics

Mumbai did not win a single season for 1st five years and it was still owned by Reliance ....
I am largely in favor of retention and RTM card... If a team invest on player they have all the reason to benefit from his performance....
In the end its a team game and not individual performance alone...
There are some players like ishan, Nitesh rana, Sky, Simmons who have done well for MI but did not do much when they went to other teams...
Similarly players like Rahane, Dhawan, did not get the enough chances in MI but did well when they played for other teams....
Malinga is prime example not picked by any team in 2018, Mumbai took him on-board as mentor... Next year he was picked for 3 Cr only when other team could have bid more for him as Mumbai didn't had RTM and bowled wonderful last over to win 2019 Final....

Retention is ok, but not RTM card. If franchise desperately wants that player, they could bid for him instead..

Retention & RTM needs to be scrapped for having 8 teams competitive IPL.

Retention upto 3 players is ok , but RTM needs completely stopped from future auctions.

Agree with the first statement but disagree with the 2nd.

Retention leads to a player being got for less than what would happen in an auction. Instead RTM is better. That way, the player is going for the right amount.

Example - In retaining, first player gets retained for 15c, 2nd for 11c, 3rd for 8c, etc. etc. So if Rohit, Bumrah and Hardik are retained that means Hardik is going for 8c. In an auction it will be much higher....say 15c. So if RTM system is there, Mumbai can choose to use it and take Hardik for 15c and not for 8c which gives a better balance to and options to all 8 teams.

Retention is ok, but not RTM card. If franchise desperately wants that player, they could bid for him instead..

I am ok with 5 Retention, every team has 5 quality players they would like to Retain unless you are RCB when they let go K L Rahul and retained Sarfraz, or Delhi let go ABD and Dilshan in there Prime....
Its about retaining Core....
Bumrah and Pandya Bros. We're hardly known before the played for MI, so nothing wrong if MI wants to Retain them.....

If there were 5 retentions available, there was no doubt RCB would have definitely gone for KL. But IPL GC and its outdated rules .
