How is this cheating when the rule already existed from 2008-2021?
Even though the rule existed, it was unused. No franchise ever bought a retired intl. player as uncapped.
For a good reason that rule was scrapped.
Now this franchise wants to cheat the spirit and bring back the rule for an intl. player who has played 400+ international matches... No wonder other franchises protested this d*ck move..

every auction has cheating during choosing player for which one teams will get overseas and Indians players. This will select big win for major teams having big numbers of top batting or bowling players. This has seen everytime, when during auctions, some players didn't franchiee to buy but 1-2 team presentation their money to buy them. If you blind, this is not an issue, just watch every team move during auctions.

It appears that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unlikely to do away with the mega auction, despite some franchises advocating for its removal at a recent meeting between IPL franchise owners and BCCI officials. However, the Board may permit teams to retain up to six players, potentially allowing for a combination of retention and Right to Match (RTM) options. Previously in 2022, the BCCI had only allowed four retentions with no RTM provision.

It’s understood that there wasn’t much support for CSK’s suggestion from other franchises on July 31 but the Indian cricket board is strongly considering to bring it back. If brought back, the rule would allow CSK to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player and allow them to retain most of their capped core.

As reported by Revsportz KKR looking to Trade Shreyas Iyer wth Surya Kumar Yadav for upcoming IPL 2025.
No trades can happen right now as all existing contracts have expired..
(That is unless BCCI decides to have a mini auction for 2025, in which case franchises will have an option to extend their player contracts by a year)
