Cupertino tech giant, Apple has always shied
away from disclosing the exact, or even an
approximate count of the devices it sells.
However, Consumer Intelligence Research
Partners (CIRP) has tried to answer the
question of many who are still wondering
which one of the two is choice of the masses.
CIRP released a sales breakdown of the two
devices during the first 30 days of the iPhone
6 and iPhone 6 Plus availability in the US.
The data summarised by CIRP analyst Steve
Milunovich has revealed that the iPhone 6
bagged nearly 68 per cent of the total iPhone
sales in the US during the first 30 days after
launch here. The 'bigger' iPhone 6 Plus on the
other hand amassed between 23 and 24 per
cent of the sales.
The data clearly suggests that the iPhone 6 is
certainly a popular grab in the US, beating the
iPhone 6 Plus by a comfortable margin. The
greater popularity of the iPhone 6 in the US
could be due to the fact that consumers here
still prefer smaller sized devices in sharp
contrast to their Asian counterparts who prefer
larger phablets. Also, the iPhone 6 Plus has
been witnessing supply shortage in the US,
therefore the iPhone 6 is the winner in the
race.
Meanwhile, Apple's new iPhones are also
enjoying considerable popularity in India. The
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have already had
as many as 21,000 pre-orders since October 8,
when Apple started taking pre-bookings for the
devices. The iPhone 6 has been priced at Rs.
53,500 (16GB version), Rs. 62,500 (64GB
version), and Rs. 71,500 (128GB version). The
iPhone 6 Plus on the other hand is priced at
Rs. 62,500 (16GB version), Rs. 71,500 (64GB
version), and Rs. 80,500 (128GB version).

away from disclosing the exact, or even an
approximate count of the devices it sells.
