A filmi outing this Deepavali...
Fans of the Ilayathalapathy and STR have reason to cheer. For, the actors’ films — Thuppakki and Podaa Podi — are slated to release this Deepavali. The films’ producers tell CT that there are no financial issues hampering their films and the release dates are fixed.
Director Murugadoss says that Thuppakki (releasing on November 9) will be a treat for Vijay fans. “We are very happy with the response to the trailers that are out on the Internet,” he says, “Thuppakki is an out-and-out entertainer; this film will be bigger in terms of entertainment value.”
While Podaa Podi (releasing on November 13) is touted to be a romantic, young film, it will appeal to the family audiences as well, states its director Vignesh Shivaa.
“It will be a fun film,” he says, “With the songs clicking with the youth, it augurs very well for the movie. It will be a treat for Simbu fans; it will explore everything that you like in him.”

Brahmins are expressing anger at the film 'Denikaina Ready' featuring Manchu Vishnu and Hansika where the community was shown in a bad light.
Dronamraju Ravi Kumar, president of the AP Brahmin Seva Sangham, has said that a scene where a piece of meat was placed in the hand of a Brahmin, who was made to eat it and eating of Halim were most objectionable and it was surprising that the Censor Board has not deleted these scenes.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, he lamented that the characters of Brahmins were being used to generate humor and the caste and the slang were being heckled. He demanded that this trend be immediately put an end to. Reminding about the agitation launched by the Brahmin community against another film "Women in Brahminism", Ravi Kumar said such a widespread agitation would be launched if objectionable scenes were not removed.
