I don't think it will launch in India. Government planning to introduce stricter rules for OTT.

Definitely they are planning to bring more content other than HBO. I guess soon we will observe sporting events on Max.
Rest they are already combining with Discovery+

Good. 'HBO Max' name is confusing. So many thought its a platform based on HBO than WB. HBO Max originals from different studios believed as HBO originals by many people.
I don't wish Max to come India so that we have to pay them also. Already lost HBO shows. Many WB movies & shows are available with Prime & Netflix subscription. It will also stop if Max launched.

Warner Bros Discovery* is set to launch.

They removed HBO from branding to avoid this confusion.
