The government has asked struggling state-owned telco BSNL to look at all options, from a revival plan to disinvestment and even closure, as it looks to tackle the bleeding at India's largest loss-making PSU.

The direction to the company - which had accumulated losses of Rs 31,287 crore at the end of 2017-18 - was given following a meeting of top BSNL officials with telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan, sources told TOI.

If closure was an option for government entities, Air India would have long closed by now. Since closure is not an option and employees know that is why our tax money gets wasted like this

You forget Prasar Bhaati

Bsnl is the only choice for a large section of society especially far flung areas and poor people ( especially after₹35 monthly recharge crap)

No use of keeping bsnl with huge loss.its tax payers money they are giving to useless employees. They never work.simply chat in office and enjoy.any private companies run with loss all these years? They are getting tax payers money as salary and never respect people. This govt taken steps to improve bsnl service but they have union to fight against it.these unions are biggest problem here
