bro may be it isn't , as unofficially all telcos jio , airtel & vi seem to have secret unwritten agreement to hike tariffs ,even jio though giving slightly more benefits than other two only less difference of tariifs , even they hike tariff regularly - telecom is in oligopoly ( in future might be nearly duopoly

if no vi , bsnl/mtnl have less impact now it would have become duopoly in which both would end up charging similar more or less .

Cartelization is rampant in every sector not just telecom, all competitors coordinate with each other to ensure that they all make profits. The difference comes only when there is a new entrant in the market and they have to play the pricing game to make it's place in the market and carve out a slice of the market share pie for themselves. Once that happens then the new market structure that emerges makes the new cartel and the cycle continues.
Earlier it was Airtel, Vodafone and Idea as the premium cartel and Rcom, Docomo and Aircel as the economy cartel and the subscriber could pick one of them as per their needs. Now it's Airtel, Vi and Jio as the new premium cartel and only BSNL as the economy option. More tariff hikes are in the pipeline.

That's justified after 5G deployment or 5G spectrum auction. I don't think there is need of tariff hike right now. 30-40% people have jumped onto yearly plans and they will be sufficient for one or two years. This tariff hike won't be good for operator as well as customers if it happens before 2023. Everybody will move out and will having proper broadband at home and mostly will rely on that. Their revenues will come down considerably and again Jio will have to take lead for innovative tariffs to recover 5G investments. Towers+Fiber+Small cells. Huge investment needed over next three years before 5G will stabilize. Get good CA phone and stay on 4G/4G+ and broadband as much as possible. No need of 5G. 4G tariffs should be 300 for 25-30GB data per month and 500 for 100GB data per month. For 5G, data tariffs should be 700+, if anybody wants quality services. Anything less than 200GB on a 5G plan will be joke according to me. Remove this crap daily plans for god's sake. Putting way too much load on tower.

Yes but we will get far better speeds if monthly mobile bill goes to 500 for 4G from now on. And that too on a bulk data. Not a daily data. Daily data needs to go.
