At its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone launch event in San Francisco, Google also announced it sold 30 million Chromecast devices. It also launched a new and upgraded Chromecast dongle called Chromecast Ultra. The new digital media player is equipped with a powerful hardware with support for streaming 4K videos. It allows you to stream audio and 4K videos from devices such as a smartphone to an HDMI-equipped display.

Just likes the new Pixel smartphones, the Chromecast Ultra also comes with Google’s ‘G’ logo, representing ‘Made by Google.’ It comes with a circular design, just like last year’s Chromecast and Chromecast Audio dongles. On the buttons and ports, you get an on-off button, a connected HDMI cable on top and a power input port. It supports 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision. Chromecast Ultra is also 1.8 times faster than the previous generation. What’s more, it also has an Ethernet port for internet connectivity. It is compact and convenient, easily hides behind the TV.

Priced at $69 (approximately Rs 4,700), Chromecast Ultra will go on sale starting November. The pricing of Chromecast Ultra is nearly double to the existing second-generation Chromecast that is priced at $35 (approximately Rs 2,400)
