Exclusive: Google plans new Chromecast Ultra based on Android TV (w/ remote!) - 9to5Google

Google is planning to launch a second-generation Chromecast Ultra this year based on Android TV. The device is a dongle, much like the current form-factor, but there is one major hardware addition: an external remote.

It will support 4K HDR content. The remote may comes with a microphone and a dedicated Google Assistant button for controlling your content with your voice..

Okay, can we have android box now. We haven't one from Google since ages.

But what is difference between OTT app in android box and mobile apps installed on chromecast? I don't have it that's why asking...
You can directly access apps on android box devices without the requirement of mobile device.

What! Can't we use chromecast without a smartphone just like Amazon fire stick? I thought it is a standalone device.. (really don't have details idea)

I am using fire stick. But recently had chromecast in buily tv. And i have to say using chromecast was better experience because everything could be controlled from mobile.

It's useless without a phone.

Totally agree. It's better to invest in devices like Airtel Xstream Stick over Chromecast devices as it has Chromecast built in.
