I am currently on a 1498 Airtel plan (1 year validity, 24GB data). It expires on 15th April, 2021 (tomorrow). If I recharge in the grace period (16th to 22nd), does the remaining data get carried over or does it lapse on 15th if not recharged by 15th?

All outgoing stops as soon as outgoing validity ends (dial *123# to check Incoming and Outgoing validity dates).

All outgoing = Calls, Texts and Data. Data balance will become zero.

Incoming Calls and Texts will work during the 7 day grace period, until the Incoming validity date.

Data balance will lapse no matter what. I don't think there is any carrry forward whatsoever, regardless of when we recharge.

Not sure about data carry forward on 1498 plan, but for ₹48- 3 GB plan, remaining data gets forwarded if we recharge again before expiry of current plan.

Carry forward doesn’t works for smart packs
Recharged 49rs pack to extend validity of previous left balance of same pack

Looks like, avoiding the "SMART" pack is the smartest way to go...
