I am trying to keep one of my backup numbers active. Meaning, just active for future use. I don't not need it for anything right now, not even for incoming calls/texts.

The old 1498 Unlimited Plan (365 days) ended on this number, on Sep 10, 2021. Post that, Airtel gave me 7 days of Outgoing/Incoming grace validity, which ended on Sep 17, 2021. After that, Airtel again gave me another 7 days of grace validity (3 days Outgoing/Incoming + 4 days Incoming only), which ended on Sep 24 2021.

So for the 90 day counter, Day 1 began on Sep 25, 2021, and therefore, Day 90 was on Dec 23, 2021.

As of EOD yesterday (Dec 24, 2021), I was under the impression that 91 days had past since my previous Incoming validity ended. So, I was going to recharge with Rs.99 a few hours ago (that is, after 12.00 AM on Dec 25, 2021).

However, before doing the recharge, I checked with the USSD *123#. I also checked the Airtel Thanks app for this number. Both of them are now saying that my previous validity ended only on Nov 19, 2021.

When I looked closer, I saw that Airtel had given me a single day of Outgoing/Incoming validity on Nov 19, 2021. Both the Incoming and Outgoing validities seem to have begun and ended on that single day. The *123# result says that much.

Question:
Should I recharge now (just to be on the safer side), or should I begin the 90 day counter again, starting from Nov 20, 2021?

Then you are using the wrong network. For parking the numbers, BSNL is the best choice as of now, as quality of network is not a necessity here.

Regarding your other question wrt validity and recharge, sorry I have no idea about Airtel prepaid, as Airtel is very un-predictable in Prepaid activities, afaik... Just don't take chances bro. Recharge Rs99 pack. Do port out with old TT balance and move on to BSNL.

Thank you for the suggestion. But I am going to be staying with Airtel. I don't plan on chopping and changing networks once every few months. Moreover, I am not sure when the need could arise for me to start using the number in question back again.

I need a reliable network whenever the need arises for that number. Because, that will become my primary number whenever I go back to using it again.

Besides, I do not trust the BSNL network's signal quality or data speed to be as good as Airtel's. My father's primary network is BSNL. My sister moved to Chennai in 2003. It has been 18 years and counting. Whenever my father visits her, he still has trouble getting even a couple bars of signal on his BSNL network. His two backup numbers are fine there though, which are Airtel and Vi. I had used BSNL too, several years back. It was not a satisfying experience.

299₹ Plan was offering 1.5GB/per day data 🤔 I think benefits increased after 239₹ plan started offering 1.5GB data

Now their 4 plans are similar to Jio 239,299,479 and 666 plans

It might be a app only offer or user specific offer because still in web version 299 plan offers 1.5 data as same as 239 plan offers 1 GB data in Airtel

For me,
299 plan is having 2GB/day for 28 days
239 plan is having 1GB/day for 28 days
666 plan is having 1.5GB/day for 77 days

Old RC 379/- is now at 455/- (84days/6gb/UL calling)
Plz let me know if I recharge before validity then balance days will add or not?
Because now rc amount is not similar
