Hi guys, got a question. On my Vi number, I have recharged Rs 901 plan (70 days validity, 3GB/day + 48 GB Extra Data). Tomorrow is the last day and about 20 GB data of this "Extra Data" is still left. It states 'Pack ends in 1 day'.

Now, if I recharge with Rs 199 plan which gives 1GB/day, would the left over 20GB data from previous pack get carried forward? I know earlier it used to happen, but after Vi revised the plans in Dec 2021, I think data is not getting carried forward. Thanks in advance.

In the past, I have done Rs 351 recharge for 100GB data and I kept carrying it forward with Rs 98 plan (12GB Data, 28 days validity), and the entire leftover data of the previous plan used to get carried forward in just Rs 98 per 28 days.

Not sure if it works for "extra data" but it sure works for regular data. I recently recharged with 6GB/84 days pack and was able to carry forward 3 GB of leftover data

Yes, it was working prior to price hike. The values were a bit different as follows:

Rs 351 recharge (100GB Data, 56 days service validity).
On last day, I used to recharge with Rs 98 (12GB data, 28 days service validity) and all the leftover data used to get carried forward.

Now the prices have been revised. Rs 351 is now Rs 418 (100GB, 56 days validity)
Rs98 is now Rs 118 (12GB, 28 days validity).
Note that there is still a Rs 98 recharge which gives only 9GB data, valid for 21 days, but with no service validity, so the above cannot be used with Rs 418 + Rs 98 as mentioned by you.

Also, I am doubtful if it works now after the price hike, i.e. I am not sure even if Rs 418 + R118 combination will work, hence my original post was asking this same (similar) question.

Thanks, but when you carried forward the 3GB of leftover data, what was the second recharge you did? Was it the same plan i.e. Rs 459? Or a lower plan?

Same plan. But I did it before price hike, it was 379 then

I was on 379 plan. Recharged it with 459 now after price hike and was able to carry forward the data.

Still haven't got a clear answer if for this case will the unused data get carried forward.

Previous recharge: ₹901
Recharge I am going to do now: ₹199
