Ok then let's wait and see. I hope for good news. For last couple of days Medianet has been saying thay are not confirmed yet and will update and today all of a sudden they replied on FB messenger that they will show. Yes nothing is on schedule yet. One thing, on SPN website under football there is still La Liga mentioned with all other football properties they have right now. Also chk this link guys

Liga announces landmark free-to-air deal with Facebook in India

They say "We have rights to work with broadcasters and we may bring in partners to make sure the experience is right. What’s clear about this is that 380 games will be available on Facebook, then we’ll keep our options open as to how we spread that content out so people can see it in as many ways as possible.” This is giving hints that it might be still on TV.

Finger crossed. There is no denying that it can be tough to stay optimistic during certain times , but still there is hope for being optimistic.

Hope they provide the TV broadcasting deal before matchday 1.

My sources indicated that Sony has taken the 2nd and 3rd pick matches for every week so roughly 76 matches will be aired on their channels. Let’s wait for official confirmation. But issue is how to watch matches on Facebook on iPad and iPhone especially if the matches are streamed through flash player. Then the only option would be to watch it on computer.

matches will be on facebook/laliga official page
because facebook watch is still under development

source updated below

“La Liga has a very wide global audience and the league has two of the most-supported clubs on our platform —— Real Madrid and Barcelona. Fans can either go to La Liga page on Facebook and can view any of the matches or they can go on to the Facebook page of their favourite clubs to watch the match. No subscriptions are needed,” he said.

This TV deal might be in addition to that.

Seems Facebook paid €90mn or $100mn for the 4 year deal which amounts to 25mn per year. In comparison the last deal was worth only $32mn. And if they show FTA then don’t know how they will recover the monies.

No adverts either as per media reports :skd:

Peter Hutton, Facebook’s Director of Global Live Sports said they are doing this as an experiment and and looking at few other deals but they dont rush into too many deals at once ,
you know facebook is so rich and they dont even know what to do with their money :biggrin:

Yes and that's why streaming for free. Seems they don't need any money from streaming. They get enough money from fb ads already i guess

Other sources saying the deal is 7mn per year less than the 8mn per year deal that Sony paid for.
