Watched Copa Finals for 30 odd minutes and was frustrated to see the standard of refereeing in addition to pathetic standard of ground.The refereeing would have made English referees of 90's proud.

These South American countries do rely on European clubs to refine their talents and if there are no takers for these budding young players in Europe then the standard of team drops considerably.Look at Chile team for ex. out of their 28 man squad for Copa they had 17 above 27yr's age and of that 8 played in South Africa World cup in 2010.Eariler Udinese used to bring players from Chile for low costs and develop them in Europe before selling for high prices.It seems that they too have turned attention else where and not a single upcoming talent of note is from Chile and playing in Europe.

before moving to big clubs the only thing they know about football and their country world cup major intl trophy but after move to big club of europe their thinkg change all of a sudden they think about money and money
and when any major tournament happen they thought what we get if we give our 100% we get lot more if we showcase our talent in club level theur price tag improved.

for me after 2000 rise of club football importance kills national level trophy importance

On the contrary i feel that South American players are more passionate and emotional about representing their country than their european counterparts.You will see many instances when the South American players do not play for their clubs at the fag end of ssn. to preserve themeselves for national teams.
