BSNL thee largest PSU who is hard at work reshuffling all its products and services across the country, has cut down on its philanthropy with discounts offered to Central government, State government and Public sector unit employees on their DSL, Wi-Max and FTTH broadband bills.

Before 2013 BSNL used to offer 20% discount on the broadband bill amount. From 30th September 2013 this discount was cut down 20% to 10%. Now the discount has further been reduced to 5%. The changed discounted tariff will come into effect from 1st October 2015.

BSNL has registered a profit of Rs.486 Crore in Kerala circle in financial year 2014-15 which is higher than the profits registered in FY 2013-14 of Rs. 411 crore and in FY 2012-13 of Rs.287 crore. Kerala continues to remain a profitable circle for the PSU though the company is struggling on a Pan India scale.

We recently reported that BSNL will be replacing EvDO data cards in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab circles with 3G data cards free of cost, since they have surrendered one CDMA carrier in these circles which has affected its subscribers.
