Will Check The Band And Update You

In ur cases it is showing Band 1, which is 2100 MHz which is primarily used for 3G (UMTS/HSPA) and sometimes for 4G LTE in certain regions.

So we can say same 3G network they are upgrading to 4G without any Band change.

Generally, 900 MHz is a 2G band, used by all operators in India, barring Jio.

3G is obsolete, So can be discarded except for BSNL (2100 MHz), still in use in some areas.

850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands are all used for offering 4G (or) 5G NSA (non-standalone).

700 MHz, 3300 MHz and 3500 MHz bands are used for 5G SA (Standalone).

Incase of BSNL, they are using 700 MHz for 4G first. Once they refarm 2100 MHz band from 3G to 4G, they'll use the 700 MHz band to offer 5G SA as well.
850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands are all used for offering 4G only
3500 is used for NSA/SA NSA for Airtel/VI(some places) and SA for Jio
700 is used by Jio for SA and by BSNL as 4g only

Now BSNL 4G VoLte voice call & data speed is becoming worst. Initially both was superb. But now call drops are happening frequently in VoLte. Data speed reduced from 25 Mbps to 0.75 Mbps.

Now BSNL 3G data speed is better with 7 Mbps average speed.

It's unusable now. Absolutely horrible. Most of the websites get stuck waiting even though the speed test would say 3-4 Mbps. To add the misery, in 4G mode (I don't have VoLTE), it failed to switch to 2G when receiving incoming call resulting in "not reachable" message being played.

4G is a disaster. Don't know why they didn't contracted Ericsson, Nokia or even ZTE.

Finally, my BSNL recharge is over!

Review: I used a total of 40GB for 30 days. In Jaipur, it shows 4G outside the house, 99% of 3G inside and in rural areas it shows 2G.
Things have improved a lot in the last 5-6 months. They need to work on coverage and stability.

As of now, I will not advise anyone to get a BSNL as primary SIM.

After 6 months of use of using BSNL as my primary sim -

network still stays unstable- volte is just a name in bsnl only works only 1-2 times and it stops. I have to switch off volte to call or receive calls

call not connecting (I'm in network coverage but still says switch off)

4G speeds are sometimes good and sometimes bad. They have to really improve on their network.

4G is on 700Mhz or 2100Mhz? If 2100Mhz, no coverage inside home.
