VoLTE is working great since last week of December 2024 in Visakhapatnam, AP Telecom Circle. They've addressed call drops issue too.

Although 3G shows up in the network search, my device isn't connecting to it. Only two bands are working - 700MHz (LTE) and 900MHz (2G). May be both the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands are being refarmed to LTE in my area!

1800Mhz is being used?

It was previously used for 2G. I've heard that the band was surrendered back to DoT in some circles earlier, but it still exists in a few circles.

Edit: My bad. Apologies for the confusion. 1800 MHz was also relinquished in my telecom circle too. I got mixed up because it appeared in the NetMonster search. It was actually Airtel's.

Does BSNL have spectrum in the 2300 MHz band? However, today when scanning with NetMonster, the 2300 MHz band appears for BSNL. As far as I know, both BSNL and VI hold spectrum in the 2500 MHz band. Did DoT allocate 2300 MHz band to BSNL!

*** Update ***

VoLte got activated on my BSNL number after I complained to pgrms.bsnl.co.in. Now it’s not falling back to 2G-3G. Calls are crystal clear.

Also I find some websites which loads slow in jio loads faster in BSNL 4G internet.

So far so good. Now I’m conjecturing about porting my main jio number to BSNL.

Some testing still needs to be done about coverage details to most of the places I visit. After that I shall surely give a serious thought about porting my 7 yrs old main jio number.

So much fuss about tariff hike by pvt telcos.
