Generally IPoE is considered advance and better option as compared to PPPoE which is a rather traditional method

not only because of Business plan but having static IP as well.
when I wasn't not on Static IP (Firmware 2.11) PPPoE was enable and IPoE was disabled.
So everything is cleared now.
how to apply for static ip

any additional charges

is it ipv4 or ipv6

Have they reduced the static IP price again?
Last I heard it was 299+18% GST
Call customer care and place request for Static IP.
Since my plan is business plan, therefore I do get a free static IP.
So cant confirm about real price of static IP.

I have been using Airtel DTH for more than a decade and thought clubbing through black plan would save me something. I also have poor range and speed issues with Jio router. So, I applied for a new Airtel Black 1199 xstream fiber plan. I checked the router details with sales person before making the payment and it was AOT-5221ZY (same as @Bapun bros). Then I confirmed the booking and made the payment.

They came for installation today but had a different router which was a gx titanium router. I then told that I needed a WiFi 6 new router or even the old Nokia/Huawei/ZTE (but these are not available these days I guess). They told me the new Zyxel router is not available now or in stock and gx is being used even for the gigabit plan. I told to proceed with installation as long as they will replace the router in a couple of weeks when the Zyxel is back in stock. I am moving from Jio because of poor router and hence it did not make sense to get a basic router. Later when I looked at the back of the router, it just had 2 lan ports. 2 lan ports in 2025..🤷‍♂️ I was bit shocked given that 4 to 5 is pretty common these days. Then I cancelled the activation and asked them to come back when they have the new router in stock. The installation guys were helpful and very kind. But when I cancelled the activation, a guy got in touch who was trying to brainwash me. I told my online and forum friends who took connections recently had zyxel router to which he laughed when I said they are from all over the country like Chennai or north of India. He told they might have it there but only gx in available in entire tamilnadu. Only airfiber connections get zyxel and asked me if I want to switch but also told me not to complain when the speeds are not good. My cousin took air fiber in my city and got Qualcomm modem. Even the zyxel router says xstream fiber. But he continued to convince me of how good this is. I told him I needed more than 2 lan ports to which he said make use of WiFi and I shouldn’t be worried what router it is as long as I get the speeds. I was trying to be very calm and kind and not loose my cool and then told I don’t want installation/activation today. The kind enough installation guys told me they will check in store room tomorrow for stock and will install if it is available.

I also independently verified that they have using zyxel in my city until last week but that product guy on the phone lied that they never used it in tamilnadu for fiber.

I plan to wait couple of days or so because of the nice installation guys otherwise I might cancel and move to other options in my city.

What a bad show Airtel..🤦‍♂️

Yes bro they always do like this. Even i asked for zyxtel 5221 and asked them i need only this router otherwise cancel

So they provided me 5221zy.

Else they have provided me sercomm 4221 router.

I personally never faced any issue with this router but on internet there are any users complaining about speed drop. But i personally never face this type of issue.
