Board of Control for Cricket in India has
named six additional Test venues at
their Annual General Meeting on
Monday (November 9). The six latest
Test venues that have been added to
the nine existing ones are: Ranchi,
Pune, Indore, Visakhapatnam,
Dharamsala and Rajkot.
While all the centres have hosted
One-Day Internationals in addition to
Indian Premier League fixtures, the
move to have them host Test matches
is another feather in their caps.
The Maharashra Cricket Association
Stadium hosted its first international
game in 2012, which was a Twenty20
International between England and
India. It was also in 2012 that it hosted
its first IPL game which was contested
between Pune Warriors India and Kings
XI Punjab. The first ODI was played the
following year in 2013 against
Australia.
