Got iOS 16.2 beta with India 5G support. Sadly not getting 5G yet on either Airtel or jio in Bangalore

With Jio, I see this:

In Airtel same thing as above, except that the 5G SA radio button is not visible.

Same here at Hyderabad, no 5G for Airtel or Jio.

I see so while manufacturing itself they got 5G hardware.

But models from outside India won't work as flawlessly as Indian models as Indian models have got best possible tuning for 5G through firmware update. Atleast on 5G.

It’s an app thing only. doesn’t stop you from getting 5G , it’s just the app itself has not been updated with the latest list of compatible devices

I doubt that will be the case with apple devices imported into India cause apple is known for maintaining a global standard, this 5G update thing for apple devices is just apples turning on 5G on the modem via software update which was disabled to avoid any kind of issue with the user experience due to 5G which was not even available in india in during the actual beta testing in International Markets

Got Airtel 5G now in HBR Layout, but moving to Nagawara it dropped to 4G again

I've a feeling that we're going to be seeing 5G earlier than this December deadline as Apple has a knack of underpromising, over delivering
