Airtel is now offering 2GB of free cloud storage on its myAirtel app with a newly launched feature called ‘Airtel Backup’, according to a report by Gadgets 360. Airtel users will now be able to store documents, audio, video, photos, call history, contacts etc for free.

The feature has been added for Android users as part of myAirtel app update.

So far Airtel hasn’t made any official announcement regarding the feature and it is unsure if the feature will be rolled out for iOS users.

The company has added the free cloud storage to the v4.1.3 version of its myAirtel app. The report said that the new feature currently seems to be available to only a few Airtel prepaid customers.

The free cloud storage feature is supposed to lure Airtel customers into downloading myAirtel app, however the significance of the feature for the users is yet to be determined considering Android offers free cloud storage.

Currently Reliance Jio is also offering free cloud storage through its ‘JioCloud’ app to its users. As per the information on Google Play store, Jio app has received 50, 00,000 to 1,00,00,000 installs.
