But I have a few technical questions. How will Airtel manage IPTV flawlessly on lower bandwidth plans such as 30–40 Mbps, or in case of congestion in AirFiber? Does IPTV have a dedicated channel, so the speed of the plan doesn’t matter in this scenario?

A good-quality HD channel typically requires around 3.5–4 MBit/s of bandwidth (28–32 Mbps). If someone is watching an HD channel on IPTV while another person is downloading or browsing the internet, will the system be able to handle the load without buffering or interruptions?
HD channels from satellite uses 8 to 10 mbps, not 28 to 32 mbps.

Will check once I go home tonight about how much bandwidth does iptv channels use. I have currently opted for 40Mbps plan and got it installed on sunday.

What??? 😃😃 Brother i stream Fox News,US,UK sports channels and other US channels at proper 1080 (60 fps) on 30mbps connection.. the Quality is way way better then any DTH channel available in India.. i can bet even better 4k channel that is available here..

Which IPTV service do you have?

Don't feel otherwise,it is just my opinion,I feel IPTV is just a trap,it is downgrade compared to dth.Airtel is saving money by reducing man power and equipment. They will never provide uncompressed channels for sure as it will eat data and customers will complain about speed issues especially for airfiber users. They can provide excellent quality like other countries iptv but will never do that as it will increase the cost and we all think about discounts and how much amount we can save by comparing different service providers. And every business especially in India thinks about cost effectiveness not about the quality. They will attract new customers when we use to it for few months we use to it and most of us will not change to other service. When u want to disconnect the real movie starts. It is not as easy as u get connection. They will torture u they will not accept ur disconnection. As it is postpaid u have to pay for it even if u don't use till they disconnect.

Another example is when Tataplay bought new transponders everyone thought that the picture quality will improve as they will reduce channel compression. But nothing happened it will be just in dreams.
Similarly excellent channel quality and 50fps sports in airtel iptv is just a dream for now.

So for any hd channel it touches a maximum of 17Mbps but averages at around 10Mbps.
For sd channel it touches a maximum of 10Mbps but averages around 6-8Mbps
For HD content viewing in OTT with less ads scores gain over HD tv channels of iptv. 4K sports channels are need of hour in iptv.

unlike Airtel which is sharing bandwidth from the customer's plan speed. Furthermore, BSNL IPTV data usage doesn't get counted towards the customer's fiber plan FUP.
That means Airfiber users are cooked quite literally, Airtel has always been like this deploying shady tactics 😭 I was thinking about getting an airfiber unit now no more.
