Hi, it's been a while since i posted here. Just moved to Bangalore and just before relocating I wanted to see if Airtel xstream fiber was feasible in my location. Turns out it ended up creating a new installation request. The sales guy kept pestering me to get a connection and assured me that the location is feasible. I had read some good reviews and the Airtel black plans seemed like a good option so i ended up paying without having any second thoughts. I had to reschedule the technician visit a couple of times since i needed some time to set up other things here.

Today the technician visited and confirmed that my location isn't feasible and only Air fiber is available. Even though it might have been a good option, I had no interest since i have been using a wired connection for over a decade and asked him to cancel the installation. I just need to know if this process is smooth and I'll be getting my refund within 7 business days like the sales guy promised? Even the technician confirmed that there's nothing to worry about. I've read some horror stories online regarding difficulty disconnecting their Airtel connection. Currently the status is concerning. There's an open request for Airtel fiber+dth installation and once i requested for cancellation I see another service request which says order delay and resolution by 08:06pm today. There's been no calls or any updates since then. What should i do here?

Hi Bro, good to see you back here.

May i know how you paid ? on app, or did the sales guy come to your home ?

Normally, one should not be paying before the actual KYC process happens. Now since you already paid, you have to be in touch with their social media accounts or local airtel store for a timely refund. It will come, but sometimes it may take time depending on situations. It may take 7 working days or sometimes bit more.

I know that using Fiber for a decade, and then settling for AirFiber is a drawback, however you can check if you have other alternative ISPs who are available in your location/area like ACT, Excitel, BSNL or even Railwire. Compare their services and performance and plans.

There is nothing much you can do if AIrtel doesnt have their presence in your area, but check once of any of your neigbours or adjecent apartments have the connection, if they do you can press for a new connection.

Check this link to find out which ISP are present in your locality/pincode

Payment was done post KYC process which was completely online.

I don't blame the sales guy since there's an apartment right behind my location which is apparently feasible, so they thought my location too would be feasible. We might have ACT and Excitel available and I want to consider these options but Airtel would have really been the better option since the bundled plan saves me quite a bit. Not sure if ACT and Excitel IPTV is reliable enough and user friendly.

Sales guy should be blamed here bro. Because they need to check if a FAT box is present nearby (preferably within 150 meters) before booking. But in your case, they clearly didn't and proceeded with KYC & booking, must be to fulfill their booking targets.

It all depends on the installation team.

In my case, first they denied remember, thats why i was provided with AirFiber. After pressing for a FTTH, and speaking to the higher ups, they provided.

Reason they provded was FAT box was not available in my apartment etc, but was present in the adjecent apartment from where they provided the connection.
