The only stupidity is the lack of esim support. I used Jio iActivate. Instead of selecting physical sim, selected esim and the QR code was emailed in less than 5 mins after self kyc. Totally online process and completely seamless.
Best part was, my Aadhar address is of UPE and i live in Hyderabad but the esim itself was assigned of UPE circle (verified ICCID number) so no local address, local reference garbage here.
So don't know why Airtel and Vi can't do like that.
