Jio has added a new Fiber Relocation Booking page (Jio Fiber Relocation Booking - Terms & Conditions) on their website. It has all the necessary details about this new relocation process.

I assume, Jio changed the process for relocation and added the existing connection cancelation part because not everywhere Optical Fiber is available so in such cases AirFiber will be given instead. The Rs. 1000 payment and later adjustment with the new connection was an unnecessary addition I feel, though.

Some important highlights from the above linked page:
  • Upon receipt of request for relocation, we will suspend your existing connection within 24 hrs to 48 hrs of your submission of request. You are allowed to cancel your request for relocation only within 24hrs.
  • The installation and activation of JioFiber/ JioAirFiber in new location is subject to feasibility for installation in the area/ building where you want to relocate.
  • You will have to avail a new connection at the new location with same Registered Mobile Number as that of existing connection, and you shall be required to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- as booking amount (“Booking Amount”) by such mode as determined and notified by the Company from time to time. The Booking Amount shall be adjusted with the available plan selected by you at the time of installation and activation at the new location.
  • You shall return all Service Equipment, in working condition before moving to new location. You agree to provide necessary access of your premises to our authorized representatives to carry out the uninstallation process and inspection of the Service Equipment. In case you carry Service Equipment to your new location, it will be your responsibility to deposit the devices at the nearest Jio Centre.
  • The balance subscription amount (net of GST) for the remaining validity period, shall be assessed by the Company and refunded to you within 90 days. The Company shall from time to time determine and communicate the manner in which the balance subscription amount (i) will be refunded and (ii) redeemed. Further the refund is subject to you availing a new fiber connection and such refund (if any) can be redeemed when your account has a positive outstanding amount. The refund will be forfeited if the new connection at the new location cannot be installed for any reason, or if you cancel the new connection before the refund is redeemed.
