More like Airtel want to save money on sim making,packing and sending across all the stores in India, reduce employees more bonus for CEO
 
problems crop up when you want to exchange phones. what happens then?cant give away the phone till esim is transferred
 
You need to have ESim Supported Device,
Just Like iPhone or Google Pixel Phones,

It's price is so high that even the middle class man of India cannot afford it.
In a few years time, all smartphones will be forced to have eSIMs.
The process has started in the USA, thanks to Apple, then it will slowly trickle down to Android as well, and then finally reach here in India as well.
