SDRAM is 168 pin ram(has 2 cuts)
DDR1 is 184 pin ram(has 1 cut)
DDR2 and DDR3 both are 240 pin ram(has 1 cut)
DDR4 is 288 pin ram(has 1 cut)

- DDR 4 is newest and also not backward compatible with DDR3

Vicky bro has given its MB specifications which show's the CHIPSET is G-31 & This Motherboard don't support DDR-3 So he can only update His RAM with higher FSB like DDR-2 (800Mhz) & Dual Channel Ram has some positive increments in speed.
