OTF Exclusive England Tour of Sri Lanka 2018

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have today confirmed a visit by England this October, with the tour comprising 5 ODIs, a T20 and 3 Tests. The tour will start with the ODI series first – the first one will be played on October 10 at Dambulla – and then move on to the solitary T20 before the Test series begins on Novermber 6 at Galle.

India's second largest PSU bank, detected another fraud. A copy of its FIR to CBI authorities is available with Sify.com. It details how Aditya Rasiwasia and Ishwardas Aggarwal, directors of Chandri Paper and Allied products criminally connived with the bank's Gokulnath Shetty and Manoj Hanumant Kharat in duping the bank.

The FIR says, Aggarwal and Rasiwasia sourced fraudulent LoUs favouring a State Bank of India account in Antwerp, cheating PNB off Rs 9,09,63,956.48 (according to the FIR). Surprisingly Punjab National Bank did not retain 110% margin for signing the LoU, according by RBI regulations in force back then.

West Bengal Govt to use micro-chip to prevent exam cheating

Question paper packets of the West Bengal Secondary exams that began on Monday have been fitted with a microchip. West Bengal Board of Secondary Education President Kalyanmoy Ganguly said the microchip will be put on a sticker on the sealed envelope containing the question papers. The chips are GPS-enabled. If the seal is broken, the data will be passed on to the server at the control room at the board’s office.

Ookla Speedtest report: Chennai bags top position in fixed broadband speed with 32.67 Mbps

The report said that people living in southern parts of the country enjoy highest internet speed. Ookla report suggests that Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai has bagged the top position among as far as broadband speed is concerned. Ookla, conduct its survey in 20 largest cities of the country. The company behind the Speedtest detected the speed of over 32.67 Mbps for fixed broadband, which is 57.7% quicker than the rest of the country’s average.

Micromax to take global patent licence from Ericsson

Home-bred handset maker Micromax Informatics will take a global patent licence from
Ericsson, under which it will pay royalties to the Swedish telecom gear maker on every phone it sells in India and overseas that uses 2G or 3G technology.

The agreement, signed earlier this year, came after mutual negotiations between the companies that had been engaged in a five-year long legal battle in the Delhi High Court . The court last month passed an order to this effect, a copy of which was reviewed by ET.

Breaking India could host first day-night Test against West Indies in October: BCCI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) says it is exploring the possibility of holding a day-night Test when West Indies tour India later this year. Syed Saba Karim, general manager of cricket operations at the BCCI, said the board is in favor of holding day-night Tests in India, following the example set by host nations such as Australia and South Africa.

The first day-night Test in India could happen in October , when the West Indies visit the country to play three Tests, five one-day matches and one Twenty20 game."There is a strong reason why we should have day-night Tests," Karim told the Times of India .
