Google's Big Plans for India

Alphabet, the parent company of Google, will launch its smart speakers, premium laptop Pixelbook, and intelligent home automation products, and is even planning a mid-range smartphone especially for markets such as India.

Google has for the first time formalised a sharp India-focused strategy to roll out consumer products, which may include a mid-range smartphone, and market them aggressively to take on rivals such as Apple, Samsung and Amazon, four senior industry executives said.

“Google is excited about the expansion of the consumer products business in India with the advent of the cheap 4G internet led by Reliance Jio and other operators which it says will help to realise maximum potential of these products.

Google plans to launch a mid-range Pixel smartphone focused on price-sensitive markets such as India around July-August. The company is expected to price Google Home and Google Home Mini smart speakers at Rs 9,999 and Rs 4,499 and is likely to launch by end of April.

Govt threatens Apple with legal action over anti-spam initiative

Unwanted sales calls and texts are a huge problem in India, and the government responded by creating a Do-Not-Disturb app. This provides consumers with an easy way to report spam, the government then taking action against offending companies.

The Indian government wanted an iOS version of this app more than 18 months ago, but Apple refused to allow it as it required access to call and message logs. Apple said that only stock apps have access to this data, and it could not allow third-party app access for privacy reasons.

Apple’s stance, though, has irked the head of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), R.S. Sharma, who says he will consult his legal team on how Apple could be pushed to help develop the application more swiftly.

“We will take appropriate legal action,” Sharma told Reuters in an interview. “This is unjust, it shows the approach and attitude of this company.”

Good News Bought Vu 49" Android 4K TV

Hi Friends. I bought Vu 49" Android UHD TV from FK. Tv was launched 2 weeks back. Exchanged my existing Vu 32" TV and bought this. I bought via DDF link. FK managed to deliver the TV within 24 hours and installation was done in 3 hours from the time of delivery. delivery & installation were smooth. Thanks to FK.

I initially was targeting to buy Mi 4 but flash sale was a nightmare. Missed all the flash sales which was gone in nano second. Really frustrated and settled with Vu again. I didn't face any problem with my 32" Vu. So I decided to go with Vu.

What I like

Supports 4K & HEVC videos.
clarity is stunning.
Android OS. Hotstar, Netflix, Youtube are preinstalled. Able to sideload amazon prime & SunNXT
Inbuilt chromecast is super cool. works like charm.
Voice controlled remote is excellent and useful (TV comes with 2 remotes. one is smart other is traditional)

What I didn't like

Again Vu Disappoints in audio segment. Though there is 20W speakers, it's below average. Luckily I am using F&D Speakers.
Refresh rate is very poor. only 60Hz which causes blurry pictures during sports. But managable to some extent.
Limited Playstore apps.
Huge bezels. Mi providing uber cool design in much lower price.

Netflix app and clarity is mindblowing. Netflix beats the clarity of anyother app that is available in India. Period. I have UHD subscription. May be the picture here don't do justice to the actual clarity
