Good News Airtel: One Home One Bill

India's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel today announced the launch of 'Airtel Home' that allows customers to bundle multiple Airtel relationships - home broadband, postpaid mobile and digital TV - as a single account with a unified interface on My Airtel app.

According to the company with 'Airtel Home', customers will get single Bill for all Airtel services, premium customer support and discounts of up to 10 percent on the unified bill.

KOLKATA: China’s Xiaomi may start making television sets in India from the next quarter in partnership with Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn instead of importing them as it plans to dominate online sales in the upcoming festive season, three senior industry executives said.

The company, which is the biggest seller of smartphones in India, will initially assemble the TV sets while it builds a local component sourcing base. Making the TV sets in India will provide tax benefits, although industry executives said Xiaomi is unlikely to reduce television prices because it already sells them at waferthin or no margins.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been invited to throw the ceremonial ‘First Pitch’ by Major League Baseball club Seattle Mariners. Rohit, who is on a three-city US tour, will become the first Indian cricketer to be given this honour.

According to a media release, Rohit will throw the ceremonial ‘First Pitch’ as a pregame activity against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, June 3, at Safeco Field, which is the home ground of Seattle Mariners, at 12.30 pm Pacific Standard Time (1 AM IST, June 4).

Idea, Airtel add over 1 crore mobile subscribers; Vodafone lost 6.6 lakh in April: COAI

Telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular jointly added over one crore mobile subscribers while Vodafone lost over 6.64 lakh customers in April 2018, according to data released by the COAI today. “Idea Cellular had the maximum number of subscriber additions, adding 5.55 million to bring its total subscribers to 216.76 million,” the Cellular Association of India said in a statement. As per the data released by the industry body, India’s private telecom service providers have a total of 1.049 billion mobile subscribers, including subscriber figures of Aircel, RJio, MTNL and Telenor as of March 2018.
