Bharti Airtel has expanded its Xstream AirFiber service to 27 cities across India. This fixed wireless access (FWA) solution utilizes Airtel’s 5G Plus technology to deliver high-speed wireless internet, aiming to bridge connectivity gaps in both rural and urban areas where traditional fiber broadband is not feasible.
Cities now covered
Airtel Xstream AirFiber is now available in Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Patna, Pune, Rajkot, Ranchi, Surat, and Vadodara.
The service was initially launched in Delhi and Mumbai and later expanded to cities such as Kolkata, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rajkot, and Gujarat in April this year. However, availability may vary within these cities, so interested customers are advised to check with Airtel’s website or contact their customer care team for specific coverage details.
Service details and plans
Airtel Xstream AirFiber provides high-speed internet connectivity with plans starting at Rs. 699 per month. This entry-level plan offers up to 40 Mbps of internet speeds and includes a fair usage policy (FUP) of 1TB. After exceeding this limit, the internet speed is reduced to 2 Mbps for the remainder of the month. Additionally, this plan comes with a free 4K Android Set-top box, providing access to over 350 live TV channels and subscriptions to Airtel Xstream Play and Disney+ Hotstar.
For customers seeking higher speeds, Airtel offers a 100 Mbps plan priced at Rs. 799 per month, which does not include DTH and OTT benefits. Alternatively, the same high-speed plan with DTH and OTT benefits is available for Rs. 899 per month.
Subscription and installation
New customers can subscribe to six or twelve-month long term plans, with applicable GST charges. The installation fee of Xstream AirFiber is Rs. 1,000, however, this charge is waived for customers who choose the 12-month plan, providing a cost-effective incentive for long-term users.
