Airtel has ended its 3 months Netflix offer for Thanks Platinum customers on January 15th, 2020. Airtel has been offering 3 months Netflix subscription for free to Airtel Thanks Platinum customers for quite a while now because of its strategic partnership with Netflix.

According to the listing on the Artel’s website, the offer will cease to exist from 15th January 2020. “The Netflix Offer for Thanks Platinum customer ends on 15th Jan 2020 & customer will not be able to Avail/claim after 15th Jan 2020″, reads a note on Airtel’s website. Customers who have availed the offer before 15th Jan 2020, and redeemed Airtel’s Netflix 3 month Gift offer will only be eligible for the offer.

Under this offer, customers on eligible Airtel plans were able to sign up for Netflix and receive the three-month Netflix gift subscription. Post-three months, eligible Airtel postpaid and broadband customers could pay for their Netflix subscriptions using their Airtel postpaid or home broadband bills.

Customers on a postpaid plan of Rs 499 or above or broadband plan above Rs 1099 are part of Airtel Thanks Platinum users. Apart from Netflix subscription such customers also get 1 year of Amazon Prime, free handset damage protection, Norton mobile security subscription, free Airtel Xstream App premium subscription, Wynk Music subscription, and Airtel Books Readers’ Club subscription.

The move comes barely a month after the tariff hike. Recently Airtel also removed its Rs 23 plan and increased minimum monthly charge by 95% to Rs 45. These steps seem to be taken by the TSP to increase its Average Revenue Per User or ARPU. Airtel reported a net loss of Rs 23,044 crore for the quarter ended September 30, on Rs 28,450 crore provisions towards adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues.
