Direct to Home (DTH) operator Dish TV on Monday stated that it’s Over The Top (OTT) platform Watcho has seen a record surge in content viewership. It stated that Watcho has witnessed a 50% surge in content consumption, which led to the addition of 1 million new subscribers in a month. Watcho’s subscriber base has grown up to 3 million subscribers.
Watcho has also reduced the resolution on its app to 480p to optimized the network load on the internet amidst the lockdown period. It has been done to ensure the delivery of uninterrupted content to the viewers and keep them entertained 24*7.
