SpaceX-owned satellite broadband service Starlink Broadband ahead of its launch in India in 2022 is open to pre-ordering. SpaceX is allowing Indians to order Starlink since Starlink will be available to a limited number of users per coverage area at this time.

Starlink notes that orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. One can either enter their service address or try a Plus Code with the city. Given the availability will be limited when Starlink builds coverage in India in 2022 potential customers should order Starlink in time.

Starlink is demanding a $99 deposit to order Starlink with customers needed to provide service information and billing information. When you place a deposit with Starlink you establish priority within your region for purchasing the Starlink kit when available. One can seek and obtain a refund at any time by forfeiting their priority position.

The deposit payment doesn’t guarantee Starlink kit and services but reserving a priority position. As and when, Starlink becomes available in your area, SpaceX will send you an offer notice.

Starlink is currently offering beta service both domestically and internationally with global expansion ramped up in 2021 and 2022 as Starlink launches more satellites and installs more ground stations improving its networking software, data speed, latency, and uptime.

So $500-$600 upfront cost then $99 per month is too costly for Indians. Maybe suitable for rural businesses.
