Broadband service provider Reliance Jio has updated its JioFiber or AirFiber relocation process. Previously, the company offered this service for free. However, under the new terms, Reliance Jio will suspend the existing connection within 24 to 48 hours of receiving a relocation request. Users will have to get a new connection at the new location with the same Registered Mobile Number (RMN) and pay a booking amount of Rs. 1000, which will be adjusted with the plan the user selects during installation and activation. Jio recently introduced the AirFiber relocation service, which also coincides with the implementation of the new relocation process.
Here are the key highlights of the new terms:
- Upon receiving a relocation request, Reliance Jio will suspend the existing connection within 24 to 48 hours. Users are allowed to cancel their relocation request only within 24hrs.
- The installation and activation of JioFiber or AirFiber in the new location is subject to feasibility for installation in the area or building.
- Users will need to book a new connection at the new location using the same Registered Mobile Number as the existing connection. A booking amount of Rs. 1000 is required, which will be adjusted with the plan the user selects during installation and activation.
- Users must return all Service Equipment in working condition before moving to the new location. Jio’s authorized representatives will need access to the premises to carry out the uninstallation process and inspect the equipment. If users carry the equipment to the new location, they must deposit it at the nearest Jio Centre.
The full JioFiber or AirFiber relocation terms and conditions can be accessed on the Jio website. The new JioFiber and AirFiber relocation process has raised some concerns among users regarding its seamlessness and customer-friendliness. Moreover, the requirement to pay a booking amount of Rs. 1000 for a new connection at the new location can be seen as an inconvenience.
