Reliance Jio on Monday signed the agreement with Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) for the provisioning of 4G based mobile services in identified uncovered villages in two districts of Assam namely Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. The Universal Service Provider as per the terms and conditions of the agreement with USOF will provision mobile services in 691 uncovered villages having agreed to set up and manage the aforesaid mobile service sites.
The agreement between Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited and USOF will remain valid for 10 years and eighteen months unless revoked earlier for any reason whatsoever. Reliance Jio will supply, install, test, and commission the infrastructure sites apart from operating, maintaining, and managing them for effetive provisioning of 4G based mobile services in the identified uncovered villages of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
The mobile towers will have to be 30M long for A type eNode-B and 40M long for B type eNode-B with radiating power of 20W. The eNodeB configuration will be 1+1+1 with Sectoral Antenna type having minimum 4KM radial coverage. The minimum backhaul bandwidth will be 8Mbps of VSAT and OFC/MW of 15Mbps. The tower will provide voice, SMS, and data services in the service area.
