The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) earlier this week allocated a fresh set of MSC codes to India’s leading telecom service provider Reliance Jio in consideration of its request for allocation of MSC codes. Reliance Jio has been allocated the MSC codes for West Bengal and UP (East) circle.
In West Bengal, RJIL has been granted ‘99070-99079′ ACCESS-MSC code whereas in UP (East) RJIL has been granted ‘73070-73079′ ACCESS-MSC code. The MSC code allocation is for Reliance Jio meet one million subscribers demand in each circle.
DoT in its circular noted that the MSC code series can be used by Reliance Jio except for the active subscribers of Reliance Communications and Reliance Telecom and other port out subscribers. The aforementioned set of MSC codes were earlier allotted to Reliance Communications and Reliance Telecom both of which have now suspended their wireless operations while some of their numbers remain active on other telecom operators through MNP.
Reliance Jio was earlier in December 2020 allocated 98270-98279 ACCESS-MSC code in Odisha LSA and 93950-93959 ACCESS-MSC code in Assam LSA.
