JioTV Premium plans launched with 14 OTT subscriptions for Jio Prepaid users

Reliance Jio the leading telecom operator with the largest subscriber base in India has entered into the OTT aggregation segment with the launch of bundled plans offering both Voice and Data benefits as well as subscriptions of up to 14 OTT apps through the JioTV app for its prepaid mobility subscribers. It is worth noting that JioTV is accessible only to Jio users, unlike JioCinema which is accessible to users of any operator.

Plan details

The JioTV premium plans have been launched in three validity options namely monthly, quarterly and annual. The monthly plan costs Rs 398 and gives access to 12 OTT apps for 28 days whereas the quarterly plan priced at Rs 1198 and the annual plan priced at Rs 4498 give access to 14 OTT apps each for 84 days and 365 days respectively. All plans include 2 GB/day 4G data along with unlimited Voice and 5G data under the Jio 5G welcome offer and 100 SMS/day. Along with these, there is also a data addon that costs Rs 148 which gives access to 12 OTT apps and 10 GB data with a validity of 28 days. All plans will be available for new and existing Jio customers starting 15^th December 2023

OTT apps included

The plans include subscription to 4 national OTTs namely Zee5, Sony LIV, Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema, 6 regional OTTs namely Sun Nxt, Kanccha Lannka, Planet Marathi, Hoichoi, Epic ON and Chaupal, 4 international OTTs namely Prime Video, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+ and Docubay. Also note that all premium content from the above apps is accessible only on the mobile devices and will not be viewable on the smart TV screens.

Opting for these plans eliminates the hassle of subscribing individually to multiple OTT apps and allows access to premium content from these apps under a common tab in the JioTV app. It saves the effort of remembering multiple login details of all individual apps and keeping track of the validity expiry of each. Content discovery becomes more seamless with the better categorisation of content from all OTTs. The annual plan provides priority customer care and EMI facilities.

Steps to access premium OTT content

1. Recharge with any of the monthly, quarterly, or annual JioTV Premium Plan
2. Sign-in to the JioTV app with the same Jio mobile number.
3. Enjoy premium OTT app content through JioTV Premium tab
4. No separate login or password required.
5. Note:
   I. JioCinema Premium subscription available through coupon on user’s MyJio coupon section. Redeem coupon on JioCinema App to access premium content.
   II. Access Prime Video (Mobile Edition) and Disney+ hotstar content through their respective apps.
   III. Users need to activate Amazon Prime subscription through MyJio. Disney+ hotstar is activated during login into the app.
