The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on 15th December allocated fresh MSC codes to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited in consideration to the requests by the telecom service provider for mobile services. The Telecom Department has allotted fresh MSC codes in Bihar, Karnataka, and West Bengal on Wednesday to Reliance Jio.
Reliance Jio has been allotted 91530-91539 ACCESS-MSC code in Bihar, 93320-93329 ACCESS-MSC code in West Bengal, and 93640-93649 ACCESS-MSC code in Karnataka. The trio ACCESS-MSC code allocated to RJIL will meet the demand of one million subscribers each.
Name of Service Area | ACCESS-MSC code allocated to meet one subscribers demand |
Bihar | 91530-91539 |
West Bengal | 93320-93329 |
Karnataka | 93640-93649 |
The ACCESS-MSC code series allocated to Reliance Jio can be used by the telecom service provider except for active subscribers of Reliance Communications or Reliance Telecom and other port out subscribers if any.
9153 series of MTS CDMA and not of RCOM CDMA
If so, DoT might have erred in stating it as old RCOM batch.

Considering the fact that MTS had become a fully owned subsidiary of Rcom before it’s shutdown and that all MTS subscribers became Rcom subscribers and all of MTS spectrum is even today held by Rcom, could indicate the fact that all of MTS numbering resources were also transferred to Rcom which the Dot has now allotted to Jio, except for the numbers which are still in active use by Rcom subscribers. So it can reffer to it as Rcom series.
I think it’s first time a 91 series is allocated of an old operator unlike 92 and 93 which belongs to Tata and rcom respectively
