Zomato Delivery Incidents

Sharing an incident which happened to me in May and solved today by zomato after constant follow up.

I moved to a different place in May far away from the city to a rural area where i thought zomato would not be existent. But to my surprise 2 restaurants showed up in the app so i thought of ordering food and immediately after the food was packed and ready for delivery the zomato delivery guy contacted me and said my location is not within the radius for the delivery and asked me to cancel the order and i was told that nothing would be charged for this. So i didn't mind in doing so and the next moment i did that i was charged the entire amount as cancellation penalty. Zomato support kept saying it was my mistake for cancelling it and asked me to mail their support. I didn't bother doing that because zomato anyway didn't serve my new location.

Fast forward to end of august.

More restaurant's are showing up on the app and this time distance fee is included in the app. I don't mind paying that but was still concerned about ordering and being charged penalty again so i mailed the cc and they still refused to remove it. I asked them again and again to reconsider since i had ordered numerous times from them before and this was the first time i was forced to cancel because of the delivery guy. I gave up any hopes of getting the penalty removed but atleast wanted assurance that zomato would deliver me food this time. They ended up giving me the penalty charge as zomato credits and also told me that my location would be served now on.

Same case happened with me. They charged me whole amount for the cancellation as penalty even on their mistake. I had also written mail to them once but they were not listening to me. So I deleted my Zomato account... These days Zomato is getting worst. They are not caring for their customers and their delivery Executives too.. If they will not changed their way of doing bussiness, then their name will be collapsed very soon..

Yeah i used to order through them purely because of the offers. Delivery executives for zomato are truly some of the worst ever. They don't have any idea about all this. Even when they added the penalty as zomato credits they told me not to reject or cancel any orders further. I mean they're still blaming me for the blunder that happened because of them.

Yes Bro According To Them(Zomato) They are doing a big favor by giving you the Zomato credits as refund for your order. This is way they are taking their customers which is really disgusting. In your Case the delivery executive was at fault because he refused to deliver your order to your location even after available resources but still they are blaming you. See how they are treating their customers??

Also, I was their regular customers and used to prefer Zomato over other food apps but still they had done this to me. So I had just done with Zomato. Now I am also using Swiggy. It is far better than this crap..

Yes, bro. That is his point. He tried adding food to cart in his rival's app after 8PM and provided the screenshot as proof of complaint, for which Mumbai Police has clarified that there is no time limit.

Or, am I missing something you are trying to say???

I was trying to same. Him trying to other off his competition. We can actually check whether they are delivering or not by just logging in.
