Xiaomi has announced that it will be hosting an event on July 27. The event will take place at the Beijing National Convention Center, and the invite is quite minimalistic with only the date in bold letters. But if all the reports are anything to go by, Xiaomi will be launching a new Redmi smartphone on that day.

This new Redmi device is speculated to be the Redmi Note 4, which has been on the rumor mills for quite some time now. As the name suggests, it will be the successor to the popular Redmi Note 3 , and one of its highlights is expected to be a dual-camera setup. A recent teaser showed a device with a metal body and two cameras placed at the back with a LED flash placed between them.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 specifications

The upcoming smartphone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor along with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with 6GB of onboard storage. That said, another recent
report claimed that the Redmi Note 4 could be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 deca-core chipset.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features

The dual-camera setup at the back will undoubtedly be one of the main highlights of the Redmi Note 4. Interestingly, the teaser doesn’t show a fingerprint scanner at the back, like the one on the Redmi Note 3. Probably, Xiaomi may choose to integrate it inside the physical home button on the front, which would be new for the Redmi series.

Another sketchy report from China claims that Xiaomi will also be taking the wraps off its first-ever laptop at the July 27 event. A Mi laptop has also been in the rumor mills for a long time now, and based on the reports, it will look very similar to an Apple MacBook. Despite the resemblance, the laptop will be priced at almost half of Apple’s laptops.
